New Delhi. Mumbai-based electric mobility brand Liger Mobility has announced that it will showcase its first electric scooter at the Auto Expo 2023. Interestingly, this will be India’s first self-balancing electric scooter. This feature of the scooter can prove to be a game changer in the segment. This will be a completely new experience for Indian customers. More information about this scooter has not been revealed yet. The official images reveal that the e-scooter gets a neo-retro styling with an LED headlight unit that resembles Iron Man’s arc reactor. Isn’t it cool? Electric motors and sensors that sense the speed and the angle of inclination of the scooter, these sensors are used in both the wheels.. Gyroscopes receive data from the inclination sensors in the wheels and keep the board up-right at all times Keeping it relay in the logic board. The overall styling of the scooter is largely similar to the classic Vespa and Yamaha Fascino. The front of the scooter has been fitted with a delta-shaped LED headlamp mounted on the front apron. Along with this, horizontally placed LED daytime running lights have also been given on the top fairing. The round shaped LED turn indicators are placed on the front cowl. The electric scooter comes with an all-digital instrument console, an LED tail-light, telescopic front suspension, wide seat, alloy wheels etc. The scooter in the teaser is finished in Matte Red. For braking, disc brakes have been provided at the front of the scooter and drum brakes at the rear.

With the Auto Expo just days away, Mumbai-based EV startup, Liger Mobility, has confirmed that it will be showcasing the world’s first auto-balancing electric scooter at the expo. What stands about the Liger scooter, is the fact that the self-balancing technology has been developed in-house. This should not come as a surprise as, Liger Mobility has been founded by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian School of Business(ISB) alums, and comprising of an accomplished team of engineers. Considering Liger Mobility had showcased a pre-produciton model of the self-balancing scooter back in 2019, it would be interesting to see how far the close-to-production EV has come. While no details on the scooter’s performance specs and battery pack have been divulged yet, several images of the scooter accessed by TOI Auto, reveal some key information. The self-balancing scooter will sport a modern-retro theme. It will get all LED lighting on the front and back. Multi-spoke also wheels will be offered with telescopic suspension at the front. In terms of features, the scooter gets a digital cluster with OTA updates. The scooter will also showcase self-parking, ARSAS (advanced rider safety assist), learner mode and reverse function. While that sounds exciting, how well would the single disc upfront and drum brake at the rear would perform, remains to be seen. The design for the head lamp is triangular, with a strong DRL integrated with the head unit. The seat looks to be wide, so we can expect the scooter to be tuned towards being comfortable. The scooter has a delta-shaped LED headlight on the front apron and a sleek horizontal LED daytime running light (DRL) on top. The roundish LED turn signals are also in the front cover. It moves on wheels made of aluminium and wrapped with thick rubber. The front wheel has a disc brake for stopping, while the back wheel has a drum brake.
